Here is a copy of the Library of America's Short Story for this week entitled, "The Train" by Flannery O'Connor. Please read the story and then identify a significant literary device that was used by O'Connor to achieve her purpose for the work. Identify that tehnique/device and using CSE compose a short persuasive paragraph that explains HOW it contributes to the quality of the work.



In AP prompt language think of this assignment in the following terms;

In a well structured essay explain how Flannery O'Connor's use of [blank] in her short story "The Train", enhances the meaning of her work.

I will grade this assignment based on the Killer Opening of your paragraph, the selection of an appropriate literary device, and the level of explanation used to CSE.
